Career Assessment Services
At CAPS we focus on doing one thing well - and that is to help you to find work that expresses and fulfills your needs, talents, and passions. Toward that end, we provide a four session program of career assessment and exploration to help you define your vocational interests, skills, and personality; learn about today's labor market; and make a match between the two. Let's look at these two different kinds of knowledges a little more closely...

Understanding Yourself:
Gaining Self-knowledge Through Career Assessment

We use two professional career assessment inventories, along with some other important self-assessment exercises in order to develop a comprehensive/wholistic picture of your vocational personality. Once this is done, we help you to understand the world of work.

Knowledge of the World of Work
There are thousands of jobs in today’s labor market. An important part of our program is helping you to make sense of today's world of work. We provide you with a working model of today’s employment market so that you can better understand it. Once you have this understanding, you will have taken a big step toward being able to see where you fit in it.

Combining Self-Knowledge
with Knowledge of the World of Work

Once you know more about your vocational personality, and you better understand the world of work, we combine these two elements, and very clearly define where you fit in today’s labor market. When you know where you fit, you can then begin to explore careers that would be a good match for you.

Researching Career Choices
There will probably be more than one or two careers that sound appealing to you, and you are probably going to want to do more research into those careers after our sessions are over. To help you do this, we'll show you the most effective ways to research careers and the training needed to access those careers.

What You Will Have
When you leave you’ll have everything you need to make a good career choice. You’ll know how to do research into a manageable number of careers that sound like good matches for you. Through self-knowledge, you’ll have the ability to look at any of those careers, and determine how fulfilling they might be for you. And, perhaps most importantly, you’ll be armed with the confidence that our program will give you to take control of your career and your life.

Career Assessment Sessions & Fees
This is a four session program. The sessions are approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours long. The fee for all four sessions is $300. You pay on a per session basis - not up front. The fee for each session is $75. (Upon completion of the program, you’ll have the option of a fifth session at no charge at any time in the future. Most clients use this free session to receive help with their research or for a resume critique, but you can use it in any way that you feel will benefit your career development).

We always try to keep our fees fair and reasonable. In fact, you also get a bit extra, since we are willing to go over an hour’s time if that’s what is needed to help you accomplish your goals, and you have the option of a fifth session at no charge.

Please contact us if you have questions or if you are ready to get started pursuing a new career/life path.
